59 arrested in undercover prostitution operation

The Chesterfield County Police Department arrested 59 men and women as a result of a three-day undercover operation that targeted prostitution and solicitation for prostitution. This operation, which was aimed at making an impact in the local human trafficking enterprise, was conducted on two days in November 2011 and one day in December 2011. This was a joint operation involving Chesterfield County detectives, Henrico County detectives and the FBI. Those arrested range from age 19 to age 71. They were charged with prostitution, solicitation for prostitution and the use of a vehicle while soliciting for prostitution. Other collateral charges were placed as a result of the arrest on the primary charge. The breakdown of charges is as follows: —59—Prostitution or solicitation for prostitution. …

Suspect/s broke the rear window to gain entry to the victim’s residence. A rear door was also damaged. Property was stolen. 5500 block of Creek Crossing Drive
Victim stated her doorbell rang but she did not see anyone. Two unknown suspects were then observed in her yard and attempting to turn the rear door knob. Entry was not gained. Nothing has been reported stolen at this time. 2600 block of Oak Lake Boulevard

Chesterfield County ranks in Top 10 for 2011 National Night Out

The National Association of Town Watch has released its top award winners for participation in the 2011 National Night Out. Chesterfield County ranked seventh nationally and first in the state among localities with populations of 300,000 or more.
Chesterfield County was ranked ninth nationally in 2010.
National Night Out was founded in 1984 to strengthen neighborhood spirit, foster partnerships between communities and law enforcement, generate support for and participation in local anticrime programs, and to heighten awareness of crime and drug prevention programs.
