59 arrested in undercover prostitution operation

The Chesterfield County Police Department arrested 59 men and women as a result of a three-day undercover operation that targeted prostitution and solicitation for prostitution.

This operation, which was aimed at making an impact in the local human trafficking enterprise, was conducted on two days in November 2011 and one day in December 2011. This was a joint operation involving Chesterfield County detectives, Henrico County detectives and the FBI.

Those arrested range from age 19 to age 71. They were charged with prostitution, solicitation for prostitution and the use of a vehicle while soliciting for prostitution. Other collateral charges were placed as a result of the arrest on the primary charge.

The breakdown of charges is as follows:

—59—Prostitution or solicitation for prostitution.

9—Use of a vehicle for solicitation of prostitution.

12 - Collateral charges.

According to Maj. Terry Patterson of the Investigations Bureau, officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department continue undercover operations in areas of the county where prostitution activity is occurring.
