On Wednesday November 12, Bettie Weaver Elementary participated in a “Recycling Bonanza” to mark “America Recycles Day” which took place nationwide on Saturday, November 15.

In addition to the “Recycling Bonanza,” representatives from the Virginia Department of Wildlife will be here to present a Virginia Naturally plaque to the students of Bettie Weaver Elementary.  Accepting the plaque on the students’ behalf will be Mrs. Bettie Weaver, our school’s namesake.

In addition to the Bonaza, Bettie Weaver Elementary School received a ‘Virginia Naturally Recognized School’ award for the 2007-2008 school year from the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. Mrs. Bettie Weaver herself, accepted the award for the school.
