The authorities are completely overreacting over this.  I am recent graduate from another Chesterfield County school, so I do not have as much of an emotional attachment to the “crime” as the Cosby students.  Senior pranks are traditional. It’s not as if teenagers [and everyone else] these days aren’t exposed to crude comments and images on a regular basis. The principal hired an expensive cleaning crew that was completely unnecessary which costed the county $5000 when water could’ve fixed the whole problem.  Even if the students charged were to go to jail, who would care a month from now about what happened?  Hours of community service would be enough punishment for a harmless prank.

Stupid prank or not it is unacceptable to paint anyone’s windows without permission.  This would include the windows of the school you just graduated from.  And what about the reports of beer kegs on the roof.  I say give them exactly what they deserve and that Mr Wright would not include a “good old boy” slap on the back.

It was not even spray paint! It was the paint used to write on car windows. Yes there was crude language and graphics drawn, but it was not as bad as Chesterfield County Police are putting it out to be. It literally took the school 25-30 minutes to clean up. These are not bad kids, just graduates doing a stupid prank before they graduate.
