Family Peace Festival Art contest underway

The 7th Annual Family Peace Festival will be held on Sunday, Sept. 19 at St. Joseph’s Villa.  For the first time, festival organizers are also sponsoring an Art Contest for youth.

The theme: “What Does Peace Look Like?”

Categories: Primary (K-5); Middle (6-8); High School (9-12)
Entries Accepted May 1 – July 31, 2010

Prizes:
Awards will be presented for 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize for each category as well as honorable mentions at 2 p.m. at the 7th Annual Family Peace Festival on September 19, 2010. In addition to art being displayed at the festival, winning entries will be framed and showcased at different venues around Richmond after the event.

1st place - $50 Visa Card plus Festival T-shirt
2nd place - $25 Visa Card plus Festival T-shirt
3rd place - $10 Visa Card plus Festival T-shirt

Rules: On an 8 ½ by 11 piece of paper (any weight) - draw, paint, illustrate, or communicate visually in some way a picture that expresses what peace “looks” like to you. Criteria includes creativity, artistic skill, and relevance to the theme. Be sure to include your name, address, email, phone, and school on the back of your art.
