Head of the James Regatta* Published: September 25, 2007 User submitted content courtesy Scott Beall Rowers get your paddles ready; the Head of the James regatta is slated for Oct. 13. This is a three-mile race, rowing with the current. It is also a three-mile row up to the starting gates. The race will take place at Robious Landing Park behind James River High School. The race is co-sponsored by James River High School and the Virginia Boat Club. All masters and juniors are welcomed. The first boats go at 9:30 a.m. with boats being sent every 30 seconds. Events include men’s and women’s singles, mixed fours, mixed twos and mixed eights. Faster boats will go first followed by novice boats. Hot seating will not be permitted.
