Richmond author Kathryn Starke visited Millwood School, on Jan. 12.  Ms. Starke’s first book for children entitled Amy’s Travels is a wonderful story of a young girl who learns geography through traveling and living on five of the seven continents.  Millwood School students in kindergarten through fifth grade enjoyed hearing her read her book and discuss the value of learning about geography.  Amy’s Travels is Ms. Starke’s first book.  She is currently working on her second. 

Ms. Starke is a graduate of Longwood College and is a reading specialist at an elementary school in Chesterfield County.  Her company, Creative Minds Publications, encourages literacy by promoting creative and educational materials for children that motivate them to read, think, and learn.
