Things to know before you vote Published: October 28, 2008 content Chesterfield County General Registrar Office The General Election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 4. The polls will be open from 6am to 7pm. Verify your polling location. Some changes have been made in the county since the February primary election, such as “Precinct 302 Deer Run was split to create a new precinct generally west of Winterpock Road and South of Route 360, with the voting location being at Cosby High School at 14300 Fox Club Parkway. The new Precinct number is 307 and the new Precinct name is Cosby.” New precincts are also located in the southern Matoaca District, eastern Dale district and south-east Bermuda District. The State Board of Elections offers a user-friendly web site at www.sbe.virginia.gov/cms/ to assist you in finding information about your precinct, who is on the ballot, and your district. Although not required, bring proper identification. An acceptable ID can be any one of the following: your voter card; your Social Security Card; your valid Virginia driver’s license; any other ID issued to you by a government agency of the United States or the Commonwealth of Virginia. If you do not have identification, you will be required to sign a statement affirming your identity before you can vote. Final day to vote absentee in-person at the county’s registrar office for this election is Saturday, Nov. 1. The Registrar’s Office, located at 9848 Lori Road in Court Square, will be open from 9 am to 5 pm on Nov. 1 for absentee voting.
