He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Woolridge; brother, Richard Woolridge; and sister, Irene Jordan. He is survived by two sons, Pyramus Woolridge (Pam) and Kevin Woolridge; daughter, Chandra Watkins (Linzy Jr.); two brothers, Purcell Mosby (Queen) and Jeff Woolridge Jr.; sisters, Anne Harris (James), Mary Evans, Vernell Price (Corbin), Lula Taylor, Bessie Dupeless (Victor) and Florence Pegram (Henry); sisters in-law, Mary Woolridge and Emma Edwards; a host of devoted nieces and nephews, among them, devoted niece, Danielle Gooden; and a host of devoted friends. Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St., where the family will receive friends Monday (today) 6 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 11521 Coalboro Rd. Tina was born September 19, 1969 in Henrico, Va. She is survived by her husband, David M. Larson; mother, Evelyn Barrett; a brother, Allen Barrett; two sisters, Janet Barrett and Rebecca Newcomb; several nieces and nephews, cousins and in-laws who will miss her greatly. Tina has been a very special member of our family and will be held in our hearts forever. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Audrey “Jean” Karppinen; daughter, Amanda Dehaan; sister, Patricia Lund; and four grandchildren. Mr. Karppinen worked for the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship for more than 15 years. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, August 3, 2009, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 3801 Beulah Road, Richmond. The family will receive friends after the service for dessert fellowship. He was willing to be a friend to everyone. Published Sep 22, 2009 SAUNDERS, Janice Huff SAUNDERS, Janice Huff, 73, of Richmond, widow of Hugh Saunders, went to be with the Lord September 19, 2009. She is survived by two children, Cathy Hill and Marvin Taylor; four grandchildren, Nicole and Brin Hill, Brandon and Leslie Taylor; two great-grandchildren, Alex and Matthew; and a sister, Jean Perkins. Janice was a retired supervisor from Philip Morris. Published Sep 22, 2009 MURPHY, John Arthur “Art” MURPHY, John, Arthur “Art,” 92, passed away on September 18, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Dorothy E. Murphy; and two daughters, Maureen M. Titone (Russell) and Sharon A. Pedersen; nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and the Korean Conflict, attaining the rank of Chief Radioman. He retired from Bell Telephone Laboratories in New Jersey after 30 years in research and development, and was on the team that developed the Picturephone featured at the New York World’s Fair of 1964-65. He was a volunteer fireman for 30 years, 20 with the East Freehold Fire Department in New Jersey, where he was an active firefighter and was also on the Board of Directors, and 10 years with the Midlothian Fire Company 5 in Virginia, where he was an administrator. He was a longtime member of the Lions Club of New Jersey. He had many hobbies including boating, fishing, woodworking, clock making and computer photography. Special thanks to his caregivers and the staff at Sunrise of BonAir for their kindness and support. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Huguenot Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1020 Huguenot Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Church, Dolfield and Huguenot Roads. Interment will be private.
