| Gordon pintos win CBC championship Published: July 02, 2009 Content courtesy of David Revels The Gordon Athletic Association Pinto team earned a 12-11 win in the championship game of the Chesterfield Baseball Club playoffs June 25 to cap off a great season. It was a tough game, which was exactly what the team expected. When the 2009 Chesterfield Baseball Clubs Playoffs began June 18, Coach Gerry Mann of the Gordon Athletic Association Pinto team knew he had a tough road to the Championship ahead of him. To get through the playoff bracket to the Championship game, he had to play a tough Spring Run team - a team that had gave his team their only loss of the season. Gordon won their third meeting by a 4-3 score, but Spring Run fought its way back to the championship game June 25. It was a great game, but with timely hitting and a great defense, the Gordon Pinto team got the win. This is the first Pinto team for Gordon to win a league championship in over eighteen years and also gives Gordon its eighth straight year of winning a CBC Championship. Congratulations to the coaches and players of the 2009 Gordon Patriots Pinto team.
